Mathematics is often seen as a hard programme that is pursued by few people. This field of calculations often receive little or no attention and its development has been dwindling over years. Organizations that offer scholarships are mostly interested in programs related to development, policy and politics. Actually, more than 60% of the scholarships offered in the last five years were related to policy and development.
Subjects like mathematics have been neglected and those interested in pursuing them to advanced levels are forced to use their own means which are often scarce. We did research on organizations interested in developing mathematics and came across one that offers a rare scholarship that you will be interested in if you love the subject.
The Sophie Germain Scholarship is keen on investing in this unique field by offering to sponsor students from all over the world to study in France. it sponsors both Masters and PhD students in various field of Mathematics. Succesful candidates are offered full funding to study in Mathematics Foundations Jacques Hadamard institutions in France.
Masters students receive up to 2 years funding while PhD students are funded for four years. For Master students, a total of 11,000 France Euros are given each year, alongside other monetary benefits for personal use. The foundation also offers personal tools and effects for use. each candidate is provided with duvets, sheets, pans and cutlery.
Funding for PhD students is a bit higher than that of Master students, and it runs for up to four years. PhD students funding is subject to French legislation and thus might increase or decrease depending on the economy.
